Something I've been working on

I like bunting.  I like bunting year-round.  I made some all-weather, permanent bunting for my studio.

I painted tempered masonite in a 3-D effect.

As each piece is finished its mounted under the eave.

Flags and a Union shield, were fastened in position right over the doorway.

The result is altogether "star-spangled"!

Three Cheers for the Volunteers!

Driving past the Mumma barn this weekend I saw the doors wide open and plenty of hubbub afoot, so I decided to nose around.

The joint was positively jumpin' with a whole bunch of scouts and adult supervision.

The focus of all their attention and energy were our limber and twelve pounder light gun howitzer that we use for artillery demonstrations.

Lots of TLC and elbow grease were being applied to rehab gun tube, carriage, and limber.

Ernest workers were abundant...

as was supervision.

Parents pitched in too.

The bronze was polished and buffed to a brilliance.

Came the time to flip the carriage and extra help in green and gray was rounded up and, Suribachi-style, the carriage went up,

and over.  Resplendent in its new coats of primer and paint.

Tools of the trade for willing and enthusiastic volunteers,

And the fruit of their labor sounds off its thanks!

Like Ranger Keith always says: "Volunteers are the strength of the service!"

I couldn't agree more.

Spring and a not-quite young man's fancy

After a paucity of posting in these parts, patient post perusers have been inquiring after my welfare.

Fear not, fine friends, simply seems your Ranger's got hisself a social life again.

Couldn't be happier,

Ranger on Vacation

Work continues on my dust collection system,  The duct is built and installed as are the blastgates.  Now to build and electrify a small compartment on the outside wall of the shop to accommodate the blower motor.  Once this giant vacuum cleaner is all hooked up these drifts of sawdust in the shop should be a thing of the past.

Staying busy and having fun,  just north of Boonsboro,
